It's still 70 degrees out, and through the screen door I can hear the train whistles moaning on across the night.
Also, I have whiskey lemonade. (There's more if you want one.)
Also, I got a massage today -- I can has improved range of motion in my neck.

I'm thinking of signing up for Twitter. Only two things are holding me back: First, I'm never "doing" anything interesting, and won't be until I move. Second, what on earth will become of my beloved "Stop Posting" tag?

Hey, did you notice that Jim Beam totally changed the labels for Old Overholt and Jim Beam Rye? They dropped the saturation and changed the lid on Overholt, and they ditched the fluorescent yellow of the JBR label in favor on this sort of tan color. It's almost as though someone in marketing came to their senses and realized that they looked totally trashy.
(The backstory here is that there seems to be something of a rye renaissance going on -- I expect Jim Beam is trying to surf the wave by making their bottles more attractive to people who aren't already converted. I'll kind of miss the bright yellow, though -- it made it look like I was drinking something really cheap and horrible, which always felt like I was pulling one over on everyone.)

So we saw Transformers the other day. It didn't suck! Mind you, I'm not a Gen X-er, so so I don't really have much in the way of nostalgia for the original material; I'm basically just applying the standard (silly summer blockbuster) > (toy commercial) formula. Anyway, it was fun, it was mildly witty, it had a lot of exploding things; amen. (Actually, wait, you know what really bugged me? The shuck-and-jivebot. He made me want to apologize to everyone in the world for being a white person. WHY, WRITERS, WHY???!! Okay, I'm done.)
But this post isn't a movie review. This is about that one line where one of the Sector 7 spooks explained that they determined the cube's age using carbon dating. Ever since I heard that, a single question has occupied my every waking thought:
WHAT DOES THE CUBE EAT?!

Four things, and I post.
Expansion
Anyone else notice those new "Expand" links in the comment threads? Best new LJ feature ever.
Insomnia
My computer has again developed insomnia. We've already been through this! It was totally fixed! Why is it broken again? Pain in the ass!
Time to back up and call AppleCare again. arrrrrrrggggghhhh.
Under There
Boxer-briefs. Someone explain these to me.
If one has an underwear model's abs, hips, ass, thighs, and package, then yes: boxer-briefs are the most aesthetically pleasing underwear for men. This is the undeniable truth. Until the wearer runs, walks, twitches, or scratches himself, at which point the legs roll into these sort of unappealing donut shapes and the garment rides up and smooshes one's balls.
Boxer-briefs: The underwear for physically perfect men who never move. Get yours today!
ARE WE NOT MEN

Tonight I took what I think may have been my very first aspirin. No, really. I was a kid right around when they started getting seriously concerned about Reye's syndrome, and by the time I grew up, I was already in the habit of taking tylenol or ibuprofen instead.
Anyway, I have much less of a headache now, so I guess I give it a thumbs up.
